Lewis & Hockenberry has the capability to surface 4 sides, S4S, squares from
1 x 1 to 4-7/8 x 4-7/8, note this larger size is a laminated square. This
process can be done to make a square 100% clean - smooth without any rough
areas - or with hit or miss - having some rough areas on the square.

The picture at the right shows a rough, KD red oak square in the center and machined products made from similar rough squares. On the right of the rough square is a S4S, PET square. To the left is a PET dowel.
